Local Information
There are many sites to see in Aberdeen Washington, all of which are just minutes from the Broadway Apartments. One of the most well known sites is the Kurt Cobain Memorial Park, located just east of the Broadway Apartments.
Chehalis River Bridge
The Chehalis Bridge is a double draw bridge and was built in 1955 by the MacRea Brothers and Mason Construction. This picture was taken on the 4th of July. The bridge was due for major structure rehabilitation in 2018.
Seabrook
Seabrook is located northwest of Aberdeen Washington, a quick and easy 35-minute drive. The beach access here is easy and so beautiful.
In the early 1900s, the neighboring towns of Pacific Beach & Moclips were beach hot spots with masses of people traveling mostly by rail to this farthest west terminus.
After making Pacific Beach its home during World War II, the US Navy and Air Force intentionally took the area "off the map." Today, with Seabrook re-introducing so many people to this beautiful area, history is indeed repeating itself.
Lake Aberdeen
Lake Aberdeen is a small lake just outside of town offering non-motorized boating, fishing, a designated swimming area, and playground equipment for children.
Fishing should be good for 10- to 11-inch Rainbow Trout with good numbers of some much larger fish available, including some triploid Rainbow Trout that average 1.5 to 2 pounds each and jumbo Rainbow Trout reared through a cooperative project with Chehalis Basin Fisheries Task Force and WDFW that average 4 to 6 pounds each.
Westport
Westport is a city in Grays Harbor County, Washington, United States. The city's population was 2,099 at the 2010 census. It is located on a peninsula on the south side of the entrance to Grays Harbor from the Pacific Ocean. It is about a 30-minute drive from Aberdeen.

Old Elks Building
This is the building many locals refer to as The Old Elks building. It currently houses Tinderbox Coffee Roasters, Dusty Tiger Antiques, Javier's International Barber Shop, D. Minto's Jewelry & Repair, CakeCakes Gourmet Treats, A Wild Hair Salon, The Tap Room, Steamdonkey Brewing, Grays Harbor Wine Sellars, Quilt Harbor, Harbor Accounting & Tax Service, and Soiree On Broadway, an event venue for party rentals. This building is located about 3 blocks away from the Broadway Apartments in downtown Aberdeen, and many other shops, restaurants, and services can be found nearby.
